AI that drafts your reports from site notes, in your own template
For façade, fire and structural engineers, testing labs, surveyors and inspection firms. Your team sends the notes, photos and handwritten sheets they already collect. The platform drafts the report your firm already issues. Your engineer checks it and signs it.

Part 1 | The problem
Why do engineers lose evenings to writing up reports?
Because most of the time on a report is assembly, not judgement. Matching photos to elevations, retyping handwritten readings, numbering observations and fighting the template all sit with the person whose judgement you actually sell. For an engineering firm the report is not admin around the job. The report is the product.
Pick a report to see how it works. On a wide screen the ring turns; hover to stop it.
Part 2 | How it works
How does a site visit become a finished report?
In five steps, and only the fourth needs your engineer. Everything before it is the clerical work the platform takes on. The fifth is why each report starts closer than the last.
01
Capture
Site notes, photos, dictation and handwritten sheets, sent the way your team already sends them.
↓→
02
Sort
Matched to the job, the elevation or the asset, numbered and put in order.
↓→
03
Draft
Written in your template and house language, from your own past reports and rates.
↓→
04
Check and sign
Your engineer edits, approves and issues. Nothing goes out without them.
↓→
05
Learn
Each issued report goes back into the library, so the next draft starts closer.
Notes in, your report out, your engineer signs. The last step is why it gets better with use.
Why does it need to be a platform, not a general AI tool?
A general tool helps whoever is using it at the time. The platform gives every engineer the same steps and checks, keeps your templates, rates and past reports in one account your firm controls, records who changed and approved what, and feeds each issued report back in to improve the next one.
The bigger gains come once the platform and its learning are built around your own material. Filling more of each report, with costs from your own rates, comes with iteration: more of your past reports and rates, and a few rounds of refinement with rules set from your feedback.
The platform does the assembly. Your engineer keeps the judgement.
The platform does
Your engineer does
Sorts and numbers photos by job, elevation or asset
Decides what is a defect and how serious it is
Reads handwritten sheets and flags anything unclear
Confirms every reading that was flagged
Drafts observations in your house language
Corrects and approves each one
Fills your template, tables and photo schedule
Writes the opinion and the recommendation
Records who drafted, changed and approved
Signs and issues the report
How many hours a month go on assembling reports?
Put in your own figures. The calculator does not assume a saving; it shows the size of the assembly work in your numbers, which is what a platform goes after.

That is the time on the table. How much of it a platform takes back depends on your reports, so we measure one of yours before building anything and give you the real figure.
Any construction engineering or technical firm whose product is a report a qualified person signs. Firms with 1 to 50 staff are the best fit. Architects use the same approach for site visit reports and inspection notes.
Façade engineers and inspectors
Façade condition surveys, PAS 9980 appraisals and EWS1 support in the UK, Local Law 11 (FISP) and Chicago façade reports in the US.
Fire risk assessments, fire door and fire stopping inspections, and the site records behind a fire strategy.
Structural engineers
Site inspection reports, condition and defect reports, and visit notes written up to your format.
Testing labs
Handwritten site and lab worksheets read, checked and filled into your own test report and certificate templates.
Surveyors and inspection firms
Dilapidations schedules, technical due diligence, lightning protection and access inspection reports, in RICS formats where you use them.
Estates and facilities teams
Condition surveys and planned maintenance plans for estates such as leisure centres, schools and hospitals.
Do you work with firms outside the UK?
Yes. AI Metric is based in the UK and builds and supports everything remotely. Calls run early morning or evening UK time, which suits Australia and the Gulf in the morning and North America in the evening.

Part 3 | Price and next step
What does it cost and how long does it take?
The first step is a paid discovery and AI implementation workshop, £1,500, taken off the build price if you go ahead. A base build, one report type on a platform in your name, starts at £2,950 and takes about six weeks. Running costs sit in accounts in your firm’s name and are paid at cost, so the fees cover our time and nothing else.
Start with one report type, then add the next.

Bring one recent report
Thirty minutes. We walk through a report you have already issued and count what was judgement and what was assembly. If your process is already tight, we will say so.
It can draft them, in your template and your house language, from the notes, photos and readings your engineers already collect. Your engineer then edits, checks and signs the report. The judgement, the opinion and the signature never move to the software.
Can it read handwritten site notes and worksheets?
Yes. Scans and phone photos of handwritten sheets are read and the values filled into your report. Anything it cannot read with confidence is flagged for your engineer to check rather than guessed.
Will it use our own report template?
It has to, or the work has only moved. The draft comes out in your existing Word or Excel template, with your numbering, your standard clauses and your branding, built from reports you have already issued.
Will it save us time writing reports?
The time it goes after is assembly: sorting photos, retyping notes, numbering and formatting. We measure how long a report takes you today before building anything, then measure it again the same way, and give you the real figure. Use the calculator on this page to see how many hours a month that assembly costs you now.
Who checks the report before it goes out?
Your engineer, every time. Nothing is issued without their approval, and the platform records who drafted, changed and approved each report.
Why not just use ChatGPT or Copilot?
A general tool helps whoever is using it at the time. A platform gives every engineer the same steps and checks, keeps your templates, rates and past reports in one account your firm controls, records who changed and approved what, and feeds each issued report back in to improve the next one.
Is our clients’ data safe?
Your data sits in accounts in your firm’s name, in the region you choose, with invite-only logins and two-factor sign-in. The AI is used under its providers’ business terms, which do not train models on your data. Your reports, templates and data stay yours.
What does it cost?
The first step is a paid discovery and AI implementation workshop, £1,500, taken off the build price if you go ahead. A base build, a platform for one report type, starts at £2,950. Further report types are fixed prices quoted before work starts. Running costs sit in accounts in your name and are paid at cost, and upkeep is a fixed monthly fee quoted with the build.
How long does it take to set up?
About six weeks for the first report type: a workshop on a recent report, the build, then a month of refinement on live jobs. Each further report type is quicker because it reuses what is already there.
Do you work with firms outside the UK?
